FITNESS INSTRUCTOR 2 Closing Date : OPEN UNTIL FILLED Department : Community Services Position Type : Temporary Part Time File Number : SV24-57 Hours : varied hours;

Days, evenings, and weekends. Union : Non-Union Rate of Pay : 25.50 PURPOSE AND SCOPE : As a member of the Community Services Department, this position prepares lesson plans, provides quality instruction, evaluation and completes administrative tasks for their assigned programs / classes.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES : Represent the City of Belleville in a professional manner with appropriate actions and conduct by following all of the Staff Policies and Procedures set out by the Department.

Responsible for the safety and supervision of the participants by following all rules and regulations set out by the Department and / or outside organizations.

Must be knowledgeable of City Programs and have strong public relation skills. Responsible for providing instruction and leadership for your designated program.

Responsible for on-going evaluations and feedback of the programs to the Recreation Programmer. Responsible for the completion of attendance and any required paperwork to effectively administrate this program as per the Department Procedures.

Assume the responsibility for assessing and responding in an emergency situation and completing the necessary reports. Provide the participants excellent customer service including management of conflict through effective problem solving and communication skills.

Ensure all program areas are properly supplied with equipment, paperwork, and any other supplies that may be required for programs.

This position is responsible for keeping any required certifications current. Attend all training and staff meetings as scheduled.

Note : Above duties are representative of a typical position and are not to be construed as all-inclusive. EDUCATION / SPECIALIZED TRAINING : Minimum Required Qualifications : High school, college, or university graduate.

Current Standard First Aid and C.P.R. certification. Certified by a recognized and approved Agency (Dependent on the discipline you are teaching in - Group Fitness, TRX, Kettlebell, etc.

Asset Qualifications : High Five - Principles of Healthy Older Adult certification. Post-secondary education in a related discipline WORK EXPERIENCE : Minimum Required Experience : Excellent customer service skills and problem-solving skills.
