As a Manager, Test, you are responsible for effectively planning, coordinating, and directing all activities within the Test Department in a project manufacturing / make to order production environment.
You are responsible for allocating resources to meet production milestones, management of a team of test technicians, and implementing work programs to meet safety and quality requirements.

We offer an Alternate Work Schedule which provides every second Friday off!Manages execution of test programs, ensuring appropriate resource allocation to meet requirements for production and engineering / development test programs.
Manages field service schedule and resource allocation for customer field support.Leader of process improvements within the Test department.
Develops test fixturing, setups, processes, and procedures in conjunction with the engineering department, incorporating safety in all aspects of the test process.
Develops and maintains test department standard work instructions (SWI).Develops safety guidelines and procedures including job hazard analysis (JHA), ensures training of test department staff and compliance with procedures.
Maintains budgets and monitors department cost performance.Plans, manages and coordinates pre-test activities to ensure all required equipment and resources are available to meet production requirements.
Conducts troubleshooting, investigates test failures, performs root cause analysis and develops appropriate corrective actions.
Manages test equipment calibration program in conjunction with the Quality Assurance department.Maintains test department tooling and instrumentation inventory.
Develops and delivers training programs for the test department, maintains cross-training matrix and ensures qualified resources are available to meet production requirements at all times.
Responsible for execution of work programs following all applicable safety procedures and Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements.
Takes every reasonable precaution to protect the health and safety of all employees.Works directly with Scheduling and Production Control departments to ensure alignment with required production priorities and work assignments.
Maintains good shop housekeeping and organization, leads department 6S program.Functional areas reporting to this position are : What You Bring : Minimum 5 years of managerial / supervisory experience in a multi-disciplinary, make to order defense industrial environment.
Strong practical and theoretical understanding of electrical, electronic, instrumentation and controls, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Demonstrated ability to design / develop test fixtures, test / data acquisition systems (LabView, Keysight), setup and execute test programs and procedures.
Experience creating technical procedures, schematics / sketches, presentations, reports, and work instructions.Experience with technical troubleshooting.
Failure / root cause analysis experience would be considered an asset.Strong computer skills including MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), interpret / analyze manufacturing schedules.
ERP system experience would be considered an asset. Oracle EBS preferred.Minimum Education Requirements : Post-secondary education in engineering or relevant technical field.
