GFL Environmental Services is experiencing rapid growth and is in search of a dynamic, self-motivated individual to spearhead Environmental Services field recruitment across Canada.

As an integral part of our team, you will be instrumental in expanding our workforce across diverse sectors of the organization, ensuring the acquisition and retention of top talent in Environmental Services.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead Recruitment Strategy : Oversee local market recruitment strategies, managing the entire process to ensure an outstanding candidate and hiring manager experience.
- Diverse Hiring : Source and hire for management, skilled trades, and niche roles through strategic methods and confidential searches.
- Collaborative Planning : Partner with HR Business Partners and Operational Hiring Managers to create and implement effective hiring plans tailored to specific team needs.
- Pipeline Development : Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with staffing agencies, educational institutions, and community partners to build a robust talent pipeline.
- Field Presence : Maintain a strong presence in the field, working from field sites as required, to ensure recruitment efforts align with business needs through active engagement with HRBPs and Operations leadership.
- Mentoring and Coaching : Guide and support a team of recruiters, providing regular one-on-one sessions, on-the-fly support, and continuous performance feedback.
Ensure compliance with labor legislation and drive performance by fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Innovative Sourcing : Use creative strategies, including social recruiting and Boolean searches, to attract top talent and maximize market penetration.
- Updates and Conflict Resolution : Provide regular updates to HRBPs and Operations leadership, handle escalations, and develop action plans to resolve conflicts.
Requirements :
- 3+ years of recruitment team leadership
- Industry experience or background in volume-based hiring preferred.
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Willingness to travel occasionally across Canada.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
- Strong leadership and experience managing recruiters.
- Proficient with Applicant Tracking Systems (Workday preferred).
- Understanding of labor legislation.
- Skilled in conducting phone, virtual, and in-person interviews.
- Familiar with social media and professional networking.
- Excellent communication and decision-making abilities.
