Community Rehabilitation Services
Working in communities across Ontario, our Community Rehabilitation Services team treats clients who’ve experienced mental stress injuries and motor vehicle accidents, focusing on a return to pre-accident function. In the Traumatic Psychological Injury program, Occupational Therapists work with clients such as first responders who’ve experienced workplace trauma. They may conduct in-vivo exposure therapy and behavioural activation, and facilitate trauma processing, coping and return to function. Our approach uses evidence-based care and innovative interventions to promote mental health outcomes. This program offers opportunities to develop expertise in a growing and niche space within our OT profession.
Occupational Therapists within our Complex Auto program assess and treat clients with physical, cognitive and psychosocial impairments related to motor vehicle accidents. In a community setting, you may perform in-home and hospital discharge assessments, ergonomic assessments, concussion treatment, cognitive rehabilitation and mental health treatment, providing end-to-end care and guiding clients through recovery. Some OTs focus on one area, while others enjoy a mixed caseload. Visit us on Instagram to learn more about our team, work culture and impact.
