Overview
The incumbent reviews and recommends to the immediate supervisor whether to proceed with or refuse plans and specifications related to construction, modification, demolition, plumbing, occupancy or signage permit requests, in accordance with the Town’s by-laws on construction, zoning, building mechanics, fire protection, and health and safety.

The incumbent reviews and recommends to the immediate supervisor whether to proceed with or refuse plans and specifications related to construction, modification, demolition, plumbing, occupancy or signage permit requests, in accordance with the Town’s by-laws on construction, zoning, building mechanics, fire protection, and health and safety.
Examples of tasks
Review and analyze plans, specifications, and permit applications.
Identify irregularities and suggest necessary corrections.
Recommend approval or refusal of permit applications based on compliance.
Explain by-law requirements to citizens, contractors, and professionals.
Collaborate with various municipal departments.
Prepare files for the Town Planning Advisory Committee.
Draft reports and correspondence related to the position.
Participate in meetings to discuss updates and interpretation of regulations.
Profile Required
College diploma (DEC) in a relevant field.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar position.
Excellent command of French and English (spoken and written).
Knowledge of construction codes, building mechanics, zoning, occupancy, signage, sanitation, and fire prevention.
Skills : plan reading, clear communication, tact, accuracy, and ability to work under pressure.
Knowledge of English is required due to potential interactions with Town residents.
