We are looking for a Manager, Emergency Management to lead and enhance our emergency preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives.
In this role, you'll develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive emergency management programs, providing leadership to your team and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
This role is instrumental in ensuring WorkSafeBC is fully equipped to handle emergencies, from natural disasters to public health incidents, in alignment with provincial regulations and best practices.

Where you'll work
At WorkSafeBC, we offer a model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.
In this role, you'll work primarily from our Richmond office, with some flexibility to work from your home in B.C.
What you'll do
In this role, you will :
- Develop, implement, and manage WorkSafeBC's emergency management programs, ensuring alignment with BC Emergency Management System (BCEMS), CSA Z1600 standards, and the Emergency Program Act.
- Oversee the creation and continuous improvement of emergency response, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans to enhance organizational resilience.
- Lead emergency preparedness and response operations, including managing the activation of the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) during critical incidents.
- Coordinate emergency training programs, drills, and exercises to ensure compliance with ICS Canada standards and maintain staff readiness.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management, including post-incident after-action reviews, while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Your background and experience
A bachelor's degree in emergency management, public safety, business continuity, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) designation is an asset.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in progressive leadership roles - including experience managing people - in emergency management, disaster recovery, or business continuity planning.
Proven experience in managing emergency operations centers (EOCs) and leading incident response teams is required.
Experience within a public sector or regulatory environment is highly desirable.
We'll consider equivalent combinations of education and experience.

Salary : $ 116,186 - $141,166 / annually
