Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking an Electrical Engineer for immediate employment for the London / Kitchener, Ontario office.This position is to fill an existing position within the team.

Job Summary :

You will support projects across Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability sectors, including renewable energy (PV) and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. You will work under moderate supervision and contribute to a variety of engineering design and analysis tasks while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below :

• Perform electrical analyses, calculations, and routine tests in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Assist in preparing technical specifications, design drawings, memos, and reports.
• Identify discrepancies in results and propose solutions using sound engineering judgment.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to fulfill project scope, budget, and timeline.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to evaluate the electrical conditions and provide recommendations.
• Provide technical or operational guidance to less experienced engineers, EIT’s and technicians.
• Stay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure high-quality design solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering + four (4)years of relevant professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in sectors such as Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability (PV and EV systems).
• Experience in design tools : AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, or similar.
• Solid Knowledge of power systems : MV / LV distribution, lighting, controls, renewable energy systems.
• Proficiency with engineering calculations and preparing technical documentation.
• Good written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency essential).
• Ability to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedules is a must.
• Ability to fit into a fast-paced team environment and / or work independently.
• Self-motivated, detail oriented and multi-tasking.
