We are actively seeking a Facilities Engineer to join our Cold Lake Thermal team. The Facilities Engineer will work with the Lindbergh Facilities Team to provide technical support for operational requirements as well as project planning and execution. This position is onsite based at the Lindbergh Facility. The Lindbergh Facility can be accessed from a number of regional centers including but not limited to Bonnyville (approximate 35km commute), Cold Lake (approximate 70km commute), and Lloydminster (approximate 110km commute).
Responsibilities
- Operational troubleshooting and optimization support to enhance asset performance through increased reliability, throughput, and / or cost reduction.
- Design and construction of SAGD Thermal Facilities.
- Design and construction of various types of pipelines, flowlines, and SAGD related equipment.
- Develop and maintain cost estimates, cost forecasts, and schedules for all aspects of projects assigned to the engineer.
- Preparation of reports and presentations to document status, risks, and forecasts.
- Facilitation of meetings (risk and technical reviews, status updates, and planning).
- Preparation of Design Basis Memorandums, Project Execution Plans, and other technical documents.
- Monitor and enforce the corporate Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) requirements.
- Review designs for constructability.
- Participate in design reviews, 3D models reviews and HAZOPs.
- Ensure compliance of engineering deliverables with project specifications and all applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Ensure engineering contractors prepare all construction documents, and review for completeness and accuracy.
- Facilitate, participate and support shop fabrication walkdowns and pre-commissioning activities.
- Review shop inspection and field construction reports, and liaise with the engineering contractor for timely resolution of requests for information, non-conformances, and preventative and corrective actions.
- Facilitate and participate in system walkdowns and handover of field construction projects.
- Assist in the development and execution, inclusive of monitoring and surveillance, of pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Provide technical support for commissioning and operations.
- Proficient in project estimating cost and schedule.
- Coordinate with operations and maintenance for project inputs and execution planning.
Qualifications Include
6 to 15 years of experience as a Project Engineer or related role in the Oil and Gas industry.PMP, P.ENG. and / or Asset Certified.Familiarity with SAGD Infrastructure and regulatory requirements in Alberta.Design and Installation of SAGD facilities and infrastructure.Familiar with material procurement and construction contract execution.Familiar with brownfield facility construction.Proven track record managing engineering and construction contractors.Great things aren’t done by one person, they’re done by a team.
