Location : Stork Family YMCA, Waterloo Region

Work Hours : 37.5 hours per week. Evening and Weekend availability required

What you will do

The Cleaning Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring excellence in member services through the leadership and administration of all cleaning services using the YMCA of Three Rivers best practices.

The cleaning supervisor will ensure all assigned areas are cleaned promptly and regularly to a high standard. Your attention to detail and pride in delivering excellent quality work will ensure our facility meets our high standards for cleanliness.

This physically demanding position requires task flexibility, organization and high levels of energy.

  • Provide overall leadership and direction to our cleaning team at Stork Family YMCA. This includes policy, procedure, and quality measure development / implementation and delivery to stimulate member growth and retention.
  • Leadership duties including day-to-day supervision, performance management and coordination of cleaning staff and volunteers.
  • Team development including recruitment, training, proactive coaching and mentorship.
  • Manage all team administration tasks including payroll, scheduling, inventory & supply ordering, invoicing etc.
  • Proactively address day-to-day cleaning concerns and determine appropriate solutions and actions.
  • Ensure YMCA standards, policies and procedures are maintained.
  • Responsible for participating in 10+ hours of cleaning the facility weekly.

What you will bring

Leadership

Experience leading a large team either as a team lead or supervisor with a proven ability to build team culture and lead using an inclusive people first approach.

Strong organizational and prioritization skills to lead the cleaning teams at two sites which operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Strong communication and relationship building skills to lead the cleaning team and to partner with internal and external stakeholders.

A minimum of 2-years experience in a similar cleaning environment, and Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED and the ability to use various cleaning tools and equipment.

You will have a commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment. Physical requirements include frequent climbing of stairs, some physical exertion and lifting a maximum of 50lbs.

You will have proven computer knowledge of Microsoft office, administrative / office management skills, and prior leadership and management experience.

This role requires regular travel across the region, which may not always be easily accessible through public transit. The employee must be able to arrange their own transportation to these sites.

A valid G driver’s license and full time vehicle access are strongly recommended.
