Cloud Engineer

Cognizant is seeking a Cloud Engineer for a full-time remote opportunity in Canada.

What you will need to succeed

• Should have hands‑on experience of managing GCP services such as GCE, GKE, IAM, GCS and other commonly used services.
• Should have 4-6 years of experience in building, deploying and debugging Terraform deployment templates in a Cloud Environment.
• Should have 2-3 years of hands‑on experience in building, deploying and debugging issues around Helm Charts and Docker images on Cloud.
• Strong Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes / GKE).
• Kubernetes security best practices including network policies, RBAC and secret management.
• General understanding of SaaS platforms / architectures and deployment types to support partner queries.
• Solid Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and experience with tools like Terraform, Deployment Manager.
• Should have good knowledge on VM images (good to have GCE experience) types, OS, UNIX and LINUX OS.
• Understanding of networking concepts, DNS, SSL / TLS, firewalls and load balancers.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
• Hands on experience with scripting languages such as Bash shell or Python.
• Preferably have a GCP Cloud Solution Architect certification.
• Suggest workflow alterations to improve efficiency and success.
• Should be Flexible to work in CST / PST work hours.

The salary range for this role. The base salary for this position ranges between $64,000 to $74,500 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and / or management experience and other business-related and job‑necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance‑based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
