Key Responsibilities
- Identify business metrics and reporting solutions to enhance the business intelligence function.
- Develop and maintain user‑centric reporting and provide subject‑matter expertise to business leaders.
- Curate, monitor, track, and notify on data and insights across the enterprise.
- Design and prototype new analyses, data modelling, reports, visualizations, and data analytics in accordance with data governance, reporting design, and testing standards.
- Ensure creation and ongoing maintenance of process documentation for key deliverables.
- Collaborate in a cross‑functional squad with other members of Enterprise Data and Analytics.
What You Will Do
Produce analysis that supports high‑level decision making and informs strategic direction.Design and prototype new analyses, reports, visualizations, and data analytics following governance and design standards.Identify and improve business metrics and reporting solutions for the BI function.Interpret large volumes of disparate data to tell a consistent, strategic story for executives and management.Proactively monitor portfolio performance and investigate trends to understand current and future implications.Craft data narratives, track data accuracy, and reconcile data across sources.Develop reporting solutions in Power BI and create data assets using SQL or Python for downstream analysis.Consult with stakeholders to support strategic initiatives by translating technical outputs into business insights.Act as the technical business owner on projects, ensuring solutions meet business requirements.Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.3‑5 years of experience in Data Analysis & Visualization.2+ years of insurance domain expertise.3+ years of experience with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).2+ years of project leadership experience.Knowledge of data assets, key attributes, and metrics used in the P&C insurance sector.Experience handling enterprise‑level data and reporting with large quantities of data.Proven analytical ability to synthesize data, identify trends, and produce actionable insights.Knowledge of SQL databases and analytics tools (Python, R, or equivalent).Strong communication skills to explain complex problems and solutions to executive audiences.Collaboration skills with Data Scientists and Business Users.Ability to multi‑task, prioritize work, manage expectations, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.Capability to work independently while maintaining focus and productivity.Adaptability to new situations, changing business needs, and ambiguity.Curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning to grow within the insights team.Compensation
The expected base salary range for this position is $79,500.00 – $129,500.00. Depending on your relevant experience, skills, qualifications, market conditions, and business needs, base compensation may vary. You have the potential to earn more through Gore Mutual’s discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
