Summary : We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with experience in the plastics industry - with maintaining, setting up, troubleshooting, and repairing process equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency and quality output.

Duties & Responsibilities :

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Perform day to day tasks including setup of packaging machines based on production demands.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with equipment and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime.
• Responsible for performing preventive maintenance.
• Re-builds and installs machinery as required.
• Liaison with Operations team to identify process improvements and implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure replacement parts comply with manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance in CMMS.
• Always uses proper Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, safety, and other standards including BSCI.
• Understand and comply with all HACCP and GMP policies.
• Maintains good housekeeping in work area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in mechanical field is preferred.
• Extrusion experience is an asset.
• Proven 3-5 years of experience as a mechanic or technician in the plastics industry with a strong understanding of extrusion processes and equipment.
• Familiar with CMMS software
• Proficiency in troubleshooting process equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts and occasional weekends as required.
