The Role

We are seeking a strategic, collaborative, solution‑oriented Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel. Reporting to the VP, Head of Legal and Compliance, you will partner closely with cross‑functional teams on a broad spectrum of legal and privacy matters. You will provide leadership and guidance on contractual negotiation, data privacy, and legal operations in a tech‑ and AI‑first environment.

What You'll Do

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including NDAs, SAAS agreements, and service provider agreements.
• Manage and evolve the data privacy program and advise on legal aspects of data and data privacy.
• Provide clear, actionable legal guidance on day‑to‑day operational matters, balancing commercial priorities with risk management.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess legal risks and develop strategies that enable growth and innovation.
• Contribute to the development of contractual templates, playbooks, and best practices.
• Lead and implement AI solutions within the legal and compliance team to improve efficiency and assist other teams in responsibly implementing AI.
• Participate in drafting and implementing scalable governance processes.

What You Bring

• 5–8 years of experience in a legal role, preferably at a fintech, financial services, or technology company.
• Strong organizational, problem‑solving, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills with the ability to propose business‑oriented solutions.
• Proven success working cross‑functionally with different stakeholders.
• Experience in privacy matters and contractual negotiation while staying hands‑on with operations and execution.
• Bilingualism (full professional proficiency in French and English, both written and spoken) is required.
• Comfort thriving in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
• Excitement for using AI, automation, and technology to modernize legal work.
