TalentSphere Staffing Solutions is partnered with one of the most trusted names within the HVAC space in North America. Our client is a manufacturer & distributor and carries one of the most comprehensive product lines in the industry.
They are in search of a new Estimator for their Victoria branch.
Salary range is $70,000-$75,000
The estimating team is responsible for compiling and sending bids out for all tender requests and other quoting opportunities The position also consists of providing technical support for quoting, preparing proposals / bids for submission and trouble shooting.
Good communication skills, self- motivation, and a desire to learn will be required. Flexibility to deal with changing priorities and the ability to reliably respond in a timely manner.
Primary Duties
- Review incoming bids from General Email box
- Complete Take-Offs
- Must be detail oriented
- Continuously review the bid board and be aware of bids closing dates
- If we are unable to bid the project, review the bid with salesperson / branch manager. Notify the customer that we will not bid if that is the case
- Identify specialty products ahead of time that may require additional time for pricing
- Account for any upcoming price increases
- Complete accurate pricing using our Vendor Software
- Review all addendums that are associated with the project
- Clearly state what is included and not included on bids
- Review Mark Up Strategy with Branch Manager
- Complete bids 24 hrs prior to closing
- Must know how to compile bid packages for Sheet Metal Contractors and Mechanical Contractors
- Bids to Mechanical Contractors to be coordinated with Mechanical Team to ensure all relevant products are included in bid prior to it being sent out
- Complete IFC Reviews upon receipt of Purchase Order from Sales Team
- Support Salesperson / Project Manager by assisting in processing Change Orders and Site Instructions
- Take part in product training to stay updated.
- Able to think outside the box and provide value engineering if required
- Communicate with sales team to maintain market awareness
- Provide outstanding customer service, with a Customer First approach to business
- Consistently improve the quality of our service to meet client’s expectations and to minimize costs and maximize the company’s competitive position.
- Self-educate, and attend manufacturer’s factory / training visits, to ensure you are constantly up to date on the latest product developments and software tools.
Some travel will be involved when we are able to safely do so)
- Build sustainable customer relationships and trust with customer’s account through open communication
- Represent company at site meetings as required.
- Assist in all customer events as required. This could be open houses, sporting events, lunches, etc.
- Perform other duties assigned by your manager.
Skills / Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years estimating experience. HVAC experience preferred but not required.
- University degree or College diploma is preferred, relevant HVAC experience may be considered
- Ability to read Architectural and Mechanical drawings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- You are Self-Motivated, Creative and Resourceful

- Professional approach to business and the workplace
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
