We're seeking a skilled Temporary to Permanent Machinist to join our client's manufacturing team in Edmonton, AB. What We Offer :

What You'll Do : 1. Operate and Set Up Machines : Set up and adjust manual and CNC machines, including chucks, tools, and attachments.
Calculate dimensions using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry, and ensure machines are operated according to safety standards.
2. Maintain Quality and Specifications : Monitor machining processes (e.g., drilling, cutting, turning) to meet specifications, adjust controls, and replace or sharpen tools as needed.
Stamp ID on pieces, verify heat numbers, and report non-conformances.3. Ensure Cleanliness and Maintenance : Keep machines and workstations clean and perform routine maintenance as per manufacturer guidelines.
Log machine issues and report downtime to the maintenance team or supervisor.4. Collaborate for Efficiency : Work with Industrial Engineering to implement best practices, manage tooling inventory, and maintain productivity and quality standards.
5. Record and Report : Complete work orders, log time using ERP, and follow health, safety, and environmental policies. Record outputs, check for defects, and report issues as required by supervisors.
6. Assemble and Inspect Valves : Assemble valves per specifications, inspect for consistency, and discard defective items.
7. Other Tasks : Perform additional tasks as directed by the lead hand or supervisor What We're Looking For :
- Proven experience as a CNC machinist or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages (such as G-code) and CAD / CAM software.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in Valve repair and assembly.
