Our Client is currently experiencing growth and is seeking a qualified Commercial Farm Underwriter to join their team.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial underwriting, specifically within the agricultural sector, and will be responsible for assessing risks, developing insurance solutions, and building lasting relationships with clients.
Candidates must possess a CIP designation or, at a minimum, be actively enrolled in the program and working toward completion.
Candidates must be based in Western Canada, with a preference for those based in British Columbia.
Unfortunately, candidates without specific experience in commercial farm underwriting will not be considered for this opportunity.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate and assess both new and existing business.
- Communicate and negotiate coverage, terms, and rating with broker partners.
- Utilize a pragmatic approach to underwriting and relationship management.
- Stay informed of market trends, pricing levels, and legal regulations.
- Implement loss control and risk management strategies.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- CIP designation, or enrolled and working towards completion.
- A minimum of five years of relevant underwriting experience.
- Proven proficiency in underwriting basic to moderately complex commercial farm property portfolios.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail with excellent organizational abilities.
