With a population of approximately 4500 students. Position : STARCatholic is seeking a Division Curriculum & Assessment Learning Coach to work collaboratively with teachers on embedding best pedagogical and assessment practices into planning and teaching.
This is a temporary position with a negotiable start date of December 1, 2024 and end date of June 27,2025. The Learning Coach will : Curriculum & Assessment (Formative & Summative) Collaborate with teachers to support the development of outcomes-based,high quality plans (lessons, units,long-range)that incorporate sound assessment practicesSupport teachers in the analysis of student data resulting from formative and summative assessments, and incorporating the differentiation requiredModel instructional practices in the facilitation of professional developmentConnect teachers with current resources that align with curricula and with best practice researchSet up peer observations and processes for teachers to learn from othersProvide professional development and coaching for teachers on effective research-based practices that align with the vision for curriculum and assessmentTechnology Develop strategic approaches for the integration of technology into the curriculum as well as provide information on current best practices,innovations and emerging trendsResearch and maintain awareness of advances in academic and instructional technologies (ie Powerschool)Act as a technical mentor and guide in applying technology to instructional processesLiteracy & Numeracy Create guidelines for data collectionCollect,analyze,report and act on data from diagnostic assessmentsMonitor and track the results of literacy and numeracy screens and interventionsCollaboratively create a numeracy frameworkCollaboratively create a literacy frameworkAlign screeners,interventions and pedagogical strategies to the frameworksProvide professional development and coaching for teachers on effective research-based practices that align with the vision for literacy and numeracyAll candidates should be able to demonstrate : Strong knowledge of pedagogy,as well as assessment for,of and as learning.
