Duties
Provides specialized technical advice, support and guidance to management, technical staff, program specialists and clients in the planning, design, development, testing, implementation, integration and maintenance of various IT solutions and services.
Develops and supports work processes and standards used for various IT solutions and services; prepares technical reports for the development of research papers, IT strategies and plans, to advance Election Canada's IT solutions and services.
Consults with suppliers to investigate new technology, leads research and development, and studies best practices and current trends
Advises program, administrative and technical staff and management on policies, procedures and standards, and promotes compliance by interpreting and disseminating government policies, standards and guidelines.
Consults and negotiates with managers, program, administrative and technical staff, and suppliers to obtain agreement on requirements for services, and to resolve complex technical issues.
Leads or participates in project teams and working groups composed of technical staff to facilitate the development, testing, implementation, maintenance and resolution of issues related to departmental IT solutions and services.

Our building at 30 Victoria Street in Gatineau is in the heart of downtown. It has modern facilities, with collaborative work spaces, indoor parking and several restaurants nearby.
There’s also a locker room, shower room and secure indoor bike space that can be accessed from outside. You can take advantage of the 300-kilometre-long bike path.
Intent of the process
The intention of this process is to staff ten (10) positions.
A pool of qualified or partially qualified bilingual candidates will be established to fill positions at the same or equivalent group and level varying tenures (such as indeterminate, term, acting) and with various linguistic profiles.

EDUCATION
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Note :
1.Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and / or experience.
They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2.Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and / or experience.
They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3.At the manager’ s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and / or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above.

EXP1 : Significant experience* in one or more of the following IT / IM disciplines :

EXP2 : Significant experience* implementing IM / IT plans to achieve the objectives of the organization.
EXP3 : Experience in writing and / or presenting materials for a senior audience (manager, director or above).
Significant experience is defined to mean the depth and breadth of experience associated with having performed a broad range of duties for a period of approximately three (3) years.

AEXP4 : Experience developing and deploying public facing geospatial applications in a cloud.
AEXP5 : Experience analyzing and managing geospatial data.
AEXP6 : Experience developing and deploying .Net applications using Visual Studio.
AEXP7 : Experience developing and deploying geospatial applications using Azure DevOps Server (TFS).
AEXP8 : Experience administrating an internal GIS portal on premise, or an external GIS portal in the cloud.
AEXP9 : Experience managing geospatial databases.
AEXP10 : Experience in Quality Management and Quality Assurance.
