The Opportunity :
TheDietitian is a member of the care team collaborating on thedelivery of resident care to meet nutritional and dietary needs.
The Dietitian plays an important role in helping residents achieveoptimal nutritional health. Working with residents families staffand management Dietitians provide nutrition knowledge and expertiseto help residents maintain health prevent and managenutritionrelated diseases and surgery.
KeyResponsibilities :
- Conductsassessments of residents nutritional status andrequirement
- Develops nutritional care plans andprovides nutrition education andcounselling
- Provides nutritionexpertise information and education to residents healthprofessionals organizations and thepublic
- Collect and maintain data for serviceindicators progress reports and evaluations and maintain clinicalrecords of nutrition care programs preparing reports and statisticsbased on the informationgathered
Qualifications :
- BachelorDegree in Nutrition and / or Food Sciences from an accreditedCanadian University; and dietetic internshipprogram
- Eligibility and / or Registration withthe College of Dietitians of British Columbia
- 1years clinical nutrition experience in a health carefacility / program and gerontology
- Exceptionalattention to detail and documentation
Strong planningfollow up time management & organizationalskills
