In this role, you will get to work with a team of internal and external partners to manage major and minor structural and parking garage construction projects for retrofit and renewal in residential buildings.
The Program Supervisor will administer, coordinate, design and deliver construction and maintenance services / solutions to clients. The successful candidate will support the Business Unit(s) in the effective delivery of 24 / 7 / 365 Demand Services requests, planned maintenance, preventative maintenance and construction programs in a multi-disciplinary environment. The Structural and Parking Garages unit is responsible for all planned and demand repairs to underground parking garages, balconies and other structural projects as required throughout TCHC’s portfolio.
What you'll do
Plan, coordinate, implement and inspect planned, preventative and emergency maintenance and construction programsProvide recommendations in assessing operating systems by replacing / extending life cycle and / or reducing / mitigating potential damages in life cycle of building componentsPrepare, evaluate and execute service proposals (e.g. RFP, quote, contract review, etc.) of construction, preventative, and demand service requests for clients on an on-call 24 / 7 basisEstablish client communication protocols, financial reporting mechanisms, progress updates, scheduling and work activities to meet / exceed contract obligationsMitigate risks to client’s assets through establishment of proven service standardsAssist staff and clients in providing business operation performance reportsMaintain quality assurance standardsSupervise multi-disciplinary vendors’ pool, including performance evaluations, site inspection, service procurement and delivery strategies from concept to completionCoordinate with various departments within TCH to successfully implement assignmentsRecommend, implement and evaluate corporate vendor management policies and proceduresSupervise, mentor, train and direct unionized service and administrative staffCoordinate all aspect of service delivery and staff deploymentManage staff’s attendance including vacation requests, payroll input and monitoring of staffing capacity (shifts, on call, call-out schedules, etc.)Coordinate with Human Resources and respective Unions to handle conflict resolution and grievancesParticipate in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings and / or other committees as requiredParticipate in Health and Safety compliance, workplace accident and injury investigations and reportingManage ongoing project communication to all parties including progress meetings and presentations to stakeholders.Prepare and / or review project budgets including profit projections, tracking, adjusting and reporting on profits and costs anomalies, and reconciling costs for quarter / year endProvide and recommend approaches on program / project budgets to Program Manager or designateWhat you’ll need
University Degree or College diploma in related technical field (Structural) or equivalent work experience in Structural and or Project or Construction Management3 + years of related work experience with a CET (Certified Engineering Technology) or P.Eng(Professional Engineer) certification OR 6+ years of related work experience.Strong technical and legislative knowledge with experience in contract administration, tender preparation and development and monitoring of budgets.Ability to work on small to large scale projects and multiple projects within a program based environmentSound working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, Residential Tenancies Act, Ontario Building Code, Fire Code, local By-Laws and other related legislationPreference will be given to candidates possessing professional designation of Certified Engineering Technology (CET), the Association of Architectural Technologists (MAATO) or the Building Science Specialist of Ontario (BSSO)Experience supervising unionized staff would be considered an assetPossesses strong negotiating skills and the ability to analyze and evaluate complex problems provide solutions and recommend alternativesPossesses advanced skills in computer applications such use of Microsoft Word, Project and ExcelExcellent communication skills both oral and writtenExcellent customer service skills and experience in providing respectful serviceWhat’s next
