Seeking a full-time (4.0 or 4.5 days / week) general surgeon to join a team of part-time and per diem general surgeons to offer a broad scope of practice typical for a rural community.
Offers the broad scope of practice of a typical rural, community surgeon. Provides office-based general surgery services to new and established patients of all ages, including initial consultation for common general surgery concerns, performance of minor procedures, education and counseling of patients and families, ordering diagnostic tests, referral to related other specialties within and at tertiary care centers, and communication with PCP s.
Clinical support is provided by a medical assistant.
Most commonly diagnoses encountered are :
- Hernias (inguinal and umbilical)
- GERD and related symptoms
- Rectal bleeding
- Gallbladder disease
- Colon polyps or screening for colon cancer
- Hemorrhoids
- Sebaceous cyst
- Dysphagia
- Breast Conditions
- Diverticulitis
- Skin lesions (including cancers)
Provides operative (open and laparoscopic) and endoscopic procedures
