The Opportunity : Portfolio Controller
Fluent Software Group is looking for a high-performing, hands-on Portfolio Controller to join our finance team.
Reporting to the Portfolio Head of Finance, you will oversee financial performance across a portfolio of acquired software businesses. You’ll act as both strategic partner and operational leader — driving reporting excellence, strengthening controls, leading integrations, and building scalable finance functions in a decentralized environment.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in acquisition-driven environments and wants direct exposure to M&A, performance improvement, and international operations.
What You’ll Own
Portfolio Financial Performance
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning across portfolio companies
- Monitor KPIs and financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities
- Deliver monthly and quarterly business reviews with actionable insights
- Drive cash flow optimization and profitability improvement initiatives
- Partner with operational leaders to execute performance enhancement strategies
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Own the monthly close process across portfolio entitiesEnsure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reportingMaintain compliance with corporate policies and local statutory requirementsStrengthen internal controls while maintaining operational agilityLead statutory audits and support corporate audit processesM&A & Integration
Lead financial onboarding and integration of newly acquired businessesExecute ERP implementations, account mapping, and reporting alignmentPrepare purchase price allocations and opening balance sheet accountingIdentify and remediate accounting policy discrepanciesBuild first bottom-up forecasts with acquired leadership teamsRoll out Fluent and Valsoft KPI frameworks and finance best practicesSystems & Process Optimization
Support and drive NetSuite rollout initiativesIdentify automation opportunities and improve financial systemsEnhance reporting processes for scalability and efficiencyTeam Leadership

Qualifications
CPA designation requiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field5+ years of progressive accounting / finance experience1-2+ years of experience managing teamsStrong experience in multi-entity financial reporting and internal controlsAdvanced Excel skillsFluent in English (written and verbal)Nice-to-Haves
