Job Description

We are looking for a Senior IT Network Engineer who will have a multifaceted role in managing, enhancing, and securing our company's network infrastructure.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless operation of our network systems, resolve issues, implement robust security measures, and contribute to network expansion projects.

In this dynamic role, you will be at the forefront of our network operations, ensuring that our systems are not only efficient and secure but also well-prepared for the ever-changing landscape of our industry.

Your expertise and dedication will be instrumental in maintaining our network's reliability and performance.

Responsibilities of this role will include but are not limited to :

  • Ensure all daily operations and project activities are well-defined, efficiently managed, meet established standards and policies, and deliver expected outcomes.
  • Design, configure, and implement secure network solutions while working in tandem with the Information Security team, playing a pivotal role in the development and implementation of security policies, protocols, and procedures within the networking environment
  • Creating documentation, while overseeing the deployment and testing of various network technologies in accordance with industry best practices.
  • diagnosing the root causes of issues and devising and executing effective plans for repair, prioritizing methods that mitigate identified risks and consequences.
  • Ensure effective asset management by maintaining all equipment, warranties, and licensing for in-scope equipment, software, and services, while ensuring that our partners and vendors are industry experts, consistently delivering high-value services to the organization.

This is a hybrid role involving both remote and on-site collaboration out of our Brampton office.

Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of work experience in IT Networking or equivalent combination of transferrable experience and education.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus.
  • Proven leadership abilities including effective knowledge sharing, conflict resolution, facilitation of open discussions, fairness and displaying appropriate levels of assertiveness.
  • Proven experience in network administration, preferably in a senior or lead role.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, security, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Able to communicate highly complex technical information clearly and articulately for all levels and audiences.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities
  • Strong customer focus with ability to manage customer expectations and experience and build long-term relationships.
  • Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with a broad range of people and roles including vendors and IT-business personnel.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Experience developing, documenting and maintaining procedures.
  • Ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance
