TF Truckload & Logistics is growing, and we are currently looking to recruit a temporary fulltime Yard Labour for their Edmonton location.

This is a Monday to Friday position with the possibility of overtime.

Scope :

The role of Yard Labourer within the Supply Chain department supports logistics and yard operations by performing various manual labour tasks to support the movement of pipe and other materials within the yard according to applicable procedures, complying with defined quality standards.

Stock is tracked in an efficient and accurate manner This position works alongside equipment operators to load pipe onto truck beds according to customer inventory and material order details (i.

e. picking slip) as well as to offload incoming.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Work alongside Loader Operators to load and unload tubular pipes onto flat deck trailers
  • Support Operators to efficiently offload oil and gas well tubulars
  • Spot for equipment operator and use cones to setup safe work area while equipment is moving material
  • Perform inventory cycle counting of pipe, and tracking heat numbers
  • Visually inspect pipe & threads and notify yard supervisor of any damages / QA issues
  • Perform other material handling activities such as counting, sorting, packing and unpacking
  • Verify accuracy against purchase order and packing slip
  • Ensure product quality comply with defined standards and report deviations
  • Carry out receiving duties efficiently and in line with our operation standards
  • any assets, detecting and reporting malfunctioning equipment
  • Perform other duties as required, including, but not limited to effective yard and warehouse clean-up, yard maintenance, administrative duties
  • Comply with all health and safety policies and procedures including the use of PPE
  • Participate in daily toolbox and montly safety meetings

Experience

  • Minimum 5 -8 year of manual labour experience handling tubular products required
  • Class 5 Driver’s License, required
  • Forklift operation experience required
  • Loader experience will be considered an asset

Skills

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis throughout the day; ability to walk / stand for duration of shift
  • Comfortable working outside for long durations in varied weather conditions
  • Experience and comfortability working around heavy equipment
  • Attention to detail is critical in the role
  • Punctual, reliable, and willing to work, overtime, on-call and weekends when required
  • Problem solving, decision making and effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team setting
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to ensure completion to meet deadlines
