This role involves leading test strategy, planning, automation, execution, defect management, and release readiness across APIs, healthcare workflows, and digital health assets, ensuring high-quality delivery of complex healthcare integration projects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies, master test plans, and estimates for Enterprise Pub/Sub application changes.
- Review requirements to identify quality risks, coverage gaps, and maintain traceability from requirements through testing and release evidence.
- Design, automate, execute, and maintain API tests for publishers, subscriptions, notifications, event retrieval, queues, and failure-recovery workflows.
- Validate FHIR Subscription, SubscriptionTopic, notification Bundles, filters, lifecycle transitions, and resource conformance.
- Test HL7 v2 interfaces and NextGen Connect channels, including message parsing, transformation, routing, and error handling.
- Test React single-page healthcare applications across browsers, focusing on functionality, integration, regression, accessibility, and security.
- Coordinate end-to-end testing across healthcare applications, Ontario digital health assets, eReferral workflows, and downstream systems.
- Manage test environments, data, connectivity, certificates, and dependencies with cross-team coordination.
- Lead defect triage, root cause analysis, retesting, reporting, risk escalation, and quality metrics tracking.
- Prepare test completion reports, support business acceptance, confirm operational readiness, and provide knowledge transfer.
Required Skills:
- Senior test leadership experience in complex healthcare integration or enterprise application programs.
- Expertise in test strategy, planning, estimation, risk-based coverage, traceability, defect management, and reporting.
- Strong API automation skills using Postman, NextGen API testing tools, and ngrok for publish-subscribe and asynchronous workflows.
- Hands-on experience testing FHIR, REST, HL7 v2, and NextGen Connect integrations.
- Experience testing React single-page applications and healthcare workflows involving Ontario digital health assets and eReferral systems.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with FHIR R4 or R4B resources, validation profiles, terminology, and conformance requirements.
- Familiarity with Ontario digital health services, EMR/HIS integration, and multi-organization testing.
- Knowledge of NextGen Connect administration, service virtualization, stubs, and test-data utilities.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with versioned assets and regression gates.
- Testing cloud-based event services, queues, observability, security, performance, resilience, and failure recovery.
