Business Intelligence Analyst

Job Summary:

The Senior Business Intelligence Specialist - Oracle is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data extraction, transformation, and reporting solutions using Oracle, AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, and Power BI. This role focuses on healthcare analytics, interpreting complex healthcare data standards such as Ontario HRM, FHIR, and HL7 v2, to deliver accurate and actionable business intelligence for operational and clinical decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define reporting requirements and data-quality standards.
• Analyze Oracle and application data schemas to identify authoritative data fields and business rules.
• Develop, test, and maintain AWS Glue Python Shell ETL jobs for data extraction and loading into Amazon Redshift.
• Configure and support AWS DMS replication and change-data-capture processes.
• Implement data pipeline patterns including incremental loads, validation, error handling, logging, and reconciliation.
• Design and maintain dimensional models and star-schema structures in Amazon Redshift.
• Create and optimize Redshift SQL views, materialized views, and stored procedures for reporting.
• Develop Power BI semantic models, DAX measures, reports, and dashboards for healthcare metrics and data quality.
• Translate healthcare data standards into consistent analytical definitions preserving clinical meaning and traceability.
• Profile and reconcile source and target data to ensure data integrity and quality.
• Tune Oracle queries, AWS Glue jobs, Redshift workloads, and Power BI models for optimal performance.
• Prepare technical documentation including data mappings, dimensional models, test evidence, and operational runbooks.

Required Skills:

• Senior-level Oracle SQL and PL/SQL expertise including complex queries and performance tuning.
• Proficient in Python development for AWS Glue Python Shell ETL jobs and AWS DMS configuration.
• Strong experience with Amazon Redshift data warehousing, dimensional modelling, and SQL optimization.
• Advanced Power BI skills including semantic modelling, DAX, Power Query, dashboard design, and performance tuning.
• Experience with healthcare data standards: Ontario HRM Standard, FHIR, and HL7 v2 data structures and analytics.

Desired Skills:

• Expertise in designing dimensional models with conformed dimensions, surrogate keys, and slowly changing dimensions.
• Knowledge of Redshift performance optimization features such as distribution styles, sort keys, and workload management.
• Experience with Power BI administration including row-level security, deployment pipelines, scheduled refresh, and workspace governance.
• Background in healthcare analytics solutions focusing on data lineage, privacy-aware access, auditability, and incident investigation.

• Expertise in Amazon Redshift dimensional modelling, SQL optimization, and data warehousing best practices.
• Advanced Power BI capabilities including semantic modelling, DAX, and dashboard development.
• Healthcare analytics experience involving Ontario HRM Standard, FHIR, and HL7 v2 data structures.
