Job Description:

• Conduct regular patrols of hospital premises, including hallways, entrances, parking areas, patient areas, and restricted zones.
• Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, and access points and report suspicious activity or security concerns.
• Control access to restricted areas and ensure hospital security procedures are followed.
• Respond promptly and professionally to medical emergencies, fire alarms, security incidents, and other urgent situations.
• Support hospital staff during emergencies, evacuations, and crisis situations.
• Provide professional and compassionate customer service to patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
• Use effective communication and de-escalation techniques to manage tense or challenging situations.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity reports, and other required security documentation.
• Work collaboratively with hospital staff, emergency services, and law enforcement when required.
• Help enforce hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, while maintaining professionalism and respect

Qualifications:

• Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB-approved provider
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a healthcare environment and remain calm in emergency or high-pressure situations
• Ability to meet healthcare-site immunization and health-screening requirements applicable to the position
• Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB) certification, or ability to complete the required certification before onboarding
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Previous security, healthcare security, law enforcement, or related experience is considered an asset.
