Position Summary :
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Long-Term Care provides compassionate, resident-centered care in a supportive and collaborative environment. Working under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor or designate, the LPN is responsible for delivering nursing care, supporting residents’ emotional well-being, and contributing to a safe and respectful living environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and monitor therapeutic effects.
- Provide personal care and comfort to residents, including pre- and post-operative support.
- Monitor and document residents’ progress and collaborate with the healthcare team.
- Support respiratory and intravenous therapies as required.
- Educate residents and families on health and safety practices.
- Maintain infection control standards and apply aseptic techniques.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning.
- Provide direction and support to care aides and other staff.
Qualifications :
Graduation from a recognized Practical Nursing program.Current registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) .Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Ability to perform CPR and other emergency procedures.Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.Work Environment :
Rotating shiftsOpportunities to build long-term relationships with residents and families.Collaborative, team-based care model.Facilities may include dementia care units, respite beds, and hospice services.Orientation : 1 D - D shift is 07 : 00 – 15 : 00 and N shift is 23 : 00 – 07 : 00.
