Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Android Lead Engineer to design, develop, and enhance high-quality native Android applications. This role combines hands-on mobile development with technical leadership, architecture, performance optimization, code quality, and mentorship.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, Android architecture, performance optimization, automated testing, Agile development, and CI/CD. Experience with Jetpack Compose is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, high-performance native Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
- Participate in technical architecture, design planning, and implementation of new mobile features.
- Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers, architects, and backend teams.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and continuously improve Android development practices.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.
- Develop and maintain automated unit tests to improve application reliability.
- Proactively monitor and optimize application performance, stability, and usability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production problems.
- Apply appropriate software engineering principles, design patterns, and object-oriented programming practices.
- Participate in Agile development activities and technical discussions.
- Support CI/CD processes and reliable application releases.
- Mentor developers and provide technical guidance to the engineering team.
- Stay current with emerging Android technologies, frameworks, tools, and development practices.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional Android application development experience.
- Strong hands-on programming experience with Kotlin and Java.
- Deep understanding of the Android SDK and native Android application development.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, OOP, architecture, and design patterns.
- Experience developing and launching production Android applications.
- Experience with Android performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Experience with automated unit testing and code-quality practices.
- Experience working within Agile development environments.
- Understanding of CI/CD and modern mobile application release processes.
- Experience conducting code reviews and mentoring developers.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose.
- Experience with modern Android architecture and development patterns.
- Experience improving performance, scalability, stability, and user experience for large-scale mobile applications.
- Previous technical lead or senior engineering experience.
