Our Client is looking for experienced Senior UX Designers to support large-scale digital initiatives within the Ontario public sector. The successful candidates will lead user-centred design activities, conduct end-to-end user research, facilitate design workshops, and create intuitive experiences across web and mobile applications.
Key Responsibilities

Create effective, user-friendly, and visually appealing digital interfaces.

Design and improve end-to-end user experiences based on user research, testing, and feedback.

Conduct user research, interviews, surveys, and usability testing.

Translate research findings into sitemaps, user flows, customer/user journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.

Lead UX projects, design workshops, and stakeholder alignment sessions.
-
Design and deliver experiences optimized across different devices and interfaces.

Research, conceptualize, sketch, prototype, test, and iterate digital product experiences.

Identify usability and design challenges and develop practical solutions.

Gather stakeholder and user feedback to improve existing interfaces.

Work closely with developers, QA specialists, business stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams.

Prepare clear documentation, design reviews, assessments, and supporting materials.
Required Skills & Experience
-
Strong experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer, Interaction Designer, Product Designer, or similar role.

Experience designing web and mobile applications.

Strong experience creating GUI/interface designs based on user interaction and usability requirements.

Ability to define and lead UX initiatives, workshops, and stakeholder alignment sessions.

Experience managing end-to-end user research, from participant recruitment through research synthesis.

Strong experience with wireframes, user flows, user journeys, mockups, prototypes, and usability testing.

Hands-on experience with Figma, Canva, and similar design/prototyping tools.

Understanding of web technologies and their implications for UX/UI design.

Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Proven ability to collaborate with developers, QA teams, business stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
Nice to Have
-
Previous Ontario Public Service (OPS) or broader public-sector experience.

Experience with the Ontario Design System.

Knowledge of the Ontario Digital Service Standard.

Knowledge of accessibility testing and accessible design practices.

Experience designing solutions aligned with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

Experience working with complex or legacy systems and navigating multiple stakeholder/approval relationships.
Ideal Background
Candidates should have strong hands-on experience across both UX research and UX/UI design, including user interviews, surveys, questionnaires, stakeholder consultations, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and design iteration.
