Job description

Our client, is seeking an experienced, highly technical Software Engineer II to join their Connect engineering team within the Experience Enablement Technology Department.

In this hands-on engineering role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and evolving the systems that power the brand's digital experience. You will focus on the Academies & Events platform replatforming initiative—migrating community and retail events off a legacy event system (SplashThat) onto a modern stack, while connecting it to loyalty programs and guest data ecosystems. Working within a cross-functional squad in a MACH architecture, you will build front-end components using a headless CMS (Sanity) integrated with event management backends, develop serverless integrations on AWS Lambda, and construct secure API pipelines across e-commerce, DAM, and CRM systems (Salesforce Marketing Cloud).

Duration: 6-Month Contract (with high potential for extension)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid or Remote (Headquartered in North Vancouver, BC; remote candidates must align with Pacific Time Zone hours and be eligible to work in Canada)

Advantages
High-Impact Replatforming Initiative: Drive the core development, data migration, and cutover of a global event and guest experience ecosystem.

Modern Tech Stack: Work directly with cutting-edge MACH (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless) architectures, serverless cloud functions, and React/TypeScript.

Flexible Location Model: Opportunity to work remotely within Canada (Pacific Time Zone alignment) or hybrid from headquarters in North Vancouver, BC.

Cross-Functional Squad Culture: Collaborate within a product-oriented team dedicated to technical excellence, performance optimization, and operational stability.

Responsibilities
Full-Stack Development & Headless CMS: Build front-end experiences using React/TypeScript and Sanity Headless CMS, integrated with modern event/experience management backend platforms.

Legacy System Migration: Execute the migration of community and retail events off legacy SaaS platforms onto the new architecture, including data mapping, reconciliation, and cutover execution.

Serverless Cloud Integrations: Implement and maintain secure, scalable serverless integrations using AWS Lambda and cloud services to connect critical enterprise systems.

API & Data Pipeline Engineering: Design, build, and maintain webhook adapter layers and REST/GraphQL API integrations between event platforms, guest account services, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

System Observability & Optimization: Monitor application logs and system health signals to proactively troubleshoot issues, refine performance, and enhance code maintainability.

Agile Execution & Collaboration: Break down technical requirements into actionable tasks, participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural design discussions, and partner with product managers and analysts.

Qualifications
Full-Stack Engineering Experience: 4+ years of dedicated experience in full-stack web application development utilizing React, TypeScript, Node.js, and API microservices.

MACH & Cloud Architecture: Practical experience operating within MACH (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless) platform ecosystems and cloud infrastructure (AWS Lambda, containers, CI/CD pipelines).

Headless CMS & API Integration: Demonstrated proficiency in headless CMS platforms (ideally Sanity Studio / Sanity) and building integrations via REST/GraphQL, webhooks, and OAuth 2.0 protocols.

Testing & Quality Assurance: Hands-on experience writing and maintaining automated unit, integration, and user tests.

Eligibility Requirement: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and committed to Pacific Time Zone business hours.

Preferred Assets & Nice-to-Haves
Direct experience working with enterprise event/experience management platforms (e.g., AnyRoad, Cvent, RainFocus).

Proven background executing SaaS-to-cloud replatforming initiatives and complex data migrations.

Prior experience integrating with CRM and marketing automation platforms, particularly Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Summary
If you are a tech-savvy Software Engineer II who pairs 4+ years of full-stack engineering expertise with deep experience in React/TypeScript, Node, AWS Lambda, and Headless CMS integrations, this 6-month contract opportunity is an ideal match. Bring your MACH architecture precision, API integration skills, and passion for digital experiences to our client's engineering team today!
