About this Opportunity

Richmond Country Club is seeking a knowledgeable, energetic, and member-focused Fitness Professional to lead and deliver high-quality fitness experiences for our members. This position will report to the Director of Racquets. This role will be responsible for developing and delivering individual and group fitness programs while taking ownership of the day-to-day experience, presentation, organization, and functionality of the RCC gym, studio, and stretch space. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with members, create an inclusive and welcoming fitness environment, identify opportunities to enhance our fitness and wellness programming, and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a seamless member experience. The role will also provide input on equipment, maintenance, supplies, programming, and future development of the fitness space.

Key Responsibilities:

This role contributes to RCC's purpose of building a vibrant and welcoming community where families connect, belong, and form lifelong relationships. The Fitness Professional is expected to create an inclusive environment where members of all ages, abilities, and experience levels feel welcomed and supported; demonstrate stewardship by taking ownership of the fitness spaces, equipment, and resources; operate with integrity by providing safe and professional fitness guidance; collaborate effectively across departments; and build a strong sense of community through meaningful member relationships and engaging fitness experiences.

• Deliver professional and engaging individual and group fitness sessions.
• Develop fitness programs that respond to member needs, interests, and goals.
• Build positive and professional relationships with RCC members.
• Take ownership of the gym, studio and stretch space, ensuring they are clean, organized, safe, welcoming, and member-ready.
• Monitor equipment condition and identify maintenance, repair, replacement, and supply needs.
• Maintain appropriate equipment and fitness-space standards and organization.
• Recommend new programs, classes, equipment, and wellness initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with Recreation, Maintenance, Member Services, and other departments.
• Support the continued growth and development of RCC's fitness and wellness offering.
• Maintain required certifications and follow all RCC safety and operational procedures.

What makes you a great fit?

• Recognized Personal Training / Fitness certification.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
• Experience delivering individual and/or group fitness programming.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• A professional, approachable, and member-focused manner.
• A positive, presentable and energetic persona.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate ownership.
• Experience in a private club, hospitality, recreation, or wellness environment is an asset.
