Technology Infrastructure Project Manager, CSM

Location: Toronto, ON

Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid 2 days/week in office. Days may be flexible and will be determined in partnership with the local project teams. Subject to change according to business needs.

  • Pay Rate: C$80.00 C$95.00 / Hour (CAD)
  • Shift / Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, 9:00 AM 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. No overtime anticipated.

Job Summary

The Technology Infrastructure Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing technology infrastructure projects within the bank. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong project management skills and a solid understanding of technology infrastructure components. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards while ensuring alignment with the bank's strategic objectives. The US Technology Operations team is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Technology Infrastructure environment, providing a cost effective and secure infrastructure, and evolving the environment to meet the needs of the US Region. Technology Infrastructure is the entire collection of hardware, software, networks, data centers, facilities and related equipment used to develop, test, operate, monitor, manage and/or support information technology services. Additionally, you'll help increase the skillset of Project Managers within the Technology Operations role by contributing to the organizational knowledge of project management and delivery leadership through teaching, hosting learning sessions, and supporting the maturity of our Technology Operations Project Management Office.

This contractor will be supporting a technology infrastructure initiative focused on vulnerability management and patch management activities, improving pace and consistency of updates moving from individual system updates towards a more standard process, and managing the integration and handoff of developed scripts into upper environments (UAT, PRD, DR). The PM will drive scripts through upper environments, partnering with the Patch Engineering team to integrate them into Ansible, coordinating US AO/application teams for installation, patching, and validation in upper environments, and driving User Acceptance Testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and deliverables. Coordinate project activities, tasks, and dependencies to ensure successful execution and delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate project updates, and manage expectations. Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and partners to ensure alignment and support for project objectives.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery and develop mitigation strategies. Proactively address challenges and obstacles to keep projects on track and within scope.
  • Resource Allocation and Management: Allocate resources effectively to support project activities and deliverables. Coordinate with resource managers to ensure availability of required personnel and skillsets.
  • Budget Tracking and Reporting: Monitor project budget and expenditures, tracking costs and ensuring adherence to financial constraints. Prepare regular reports and updates for stakeholders on project budget status and financial performance.
  • Quality Assurance: Define and enforce quality standards for project deliverables, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Conduct quality reviews and inspections to validate the completeness and accuracy of project outputs.
  • Change Management: Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and requirements, assessing impacts and obtaining approvals as necessary. Communicate changes effectively to stakeholders and project team members, ensuring understanding and buy-in.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Management: Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, schedules, meeting minutes, and status reports. Establish a knowledge repository for lessons learned, best practices, and project artifacts to facilitate future projects. Contribute to the maturation journey of our Technology Operations PMO.
  • Run Scrum teams as part of an Agile program in a Waterfall ecosystem, driving developed scripts through upper environments as well as driving QA and UAT signoff.
  • Navigate various Technology Operations & Application Development teams across multiple initiatives to identify and, where appropriate, resolve issues, dependencies, and conflicts, then efficiently drive key work.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal business partners and lines of business and their leadership teams, partner teams, and centers of excellence.

Required Skills

  • 7 years of experience in project management, with a focus on Technology Infrastructure projects
  • CSM certification, with experience leading Scrum teams
  • Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management experience
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering infrastructure projects on time, within budget, and with high quality
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, with experience in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management approaches
  • Sound understanding of technology infrastructure concepts, including data centers, networks, servers, storage, cloud computing, and cybersecurity
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Planview, JIRA) and collaboration tools for remote team management and communication
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for gaining the cooperation and support of others, for working with individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner, and for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks, and perspectives when solving problems
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to express oneself and communicate with others verbally; recognizing that verbal communication is more than just language it includes tone, style, and structure

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the banking/financial services industry
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or ITIL certification
  • Software delivery experience

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field (required)
  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL) required
  • CSM certification required

Required Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in project management, with a focus on Technology Infrastructure projects, preferably within the banking or financial services industry

Important Notes

  • Interview process: Two rounds of interviews. First round will be with the hiring manager (30 minutes); second round will have another manager join (1 hour) and will focus on material work/demonstration of skills. Conducted via MS Teams.
  • Target start date: 9/15/2026 (ASAP). Contractor will be supporting a project that is already in flight.
