Senior Programmer Analyst
Location: Remote – Fredericton, New Brunswick
Work Model: Remote, with onsite attendance in Fredericton as needed
Duration: Up to 250 days, starting September 28, 2026
Extension: Potential extension of up to 12 months
Pay Rate: $90–$95/hr Inc.
Hours: Full-time, 7.25 hours/day
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Programmer Analyst to support the development, modernization, and enhancement of a public-facing application and its integration with existing business systems.
The successful candidate will work as a senior developer within an Agile team, contributing to application design, development, integration, troubleshooting, performance improvements, and secure coding. The role will also provide technical guidance and mentorship to other developers.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, integrate, and implement application enhancements and upgrades.
Develop secure, scalable, and maintainable ASP.NET Core MVC applications.
Analyze and resolve bugs, change requests, and technical issues.
Develop and consume REST APIs and work across the application technology stack.
Work with MS SQL Server, including SQL scripts, stored procedures, databases, and related components.
Participate in UI/UX design and responsive web development.
Conduct code reviews and follow development standards and best practices.
Develop automated unit tests and support QA activities.
Contribute to application performance improvements and technical documentation.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including scrums and planning sessions.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers.
Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
8+ years of programming and design experience with .NET and MVC.
4+ years of experience with MS SQL Server, including scripts and stored procedures.
1+ year of experience with Identity Management solutions.
Strong experience developing secure applications with a focus on data confidentiality and privacy.
4+ years of Agile development experience.
Strong experience translating business/technical requirements and user stories into technical solutions.
Recent experience with code reviews, coding standards, and development best practices.
Strong experience with JavaScript, jQuery, HTML/CSS, and UI design.
Experience with responsive UI design and front-end frameworks.
5+ years of REST API development experience.
Experience with Azure DevOps, including pipelines and development environments.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Experience with UI design systems.
Experience working in the Canadian public sector.
Experience developing multilingual applications.
Additional experience with Identity Management solutions.
Experience with secure, privacy-focused public-facing applications.
