Inventory Technician

Contract Details
- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 4 months
- Pay Rate: C$22.00 / Hour (CAD)
- Shift / Schedule: 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM -hour unpaid lunch 2 15-minute breaks
- Forklift Experience: Counterbalance, Reach, and Electric Pallet Truck
- Hazmat Training: In-house training provided if/when required
Job Summary
This Inventory Technician role is a contract position based onsite in Cambridge, ON, focused on shipping and receiving operations, sample delivery, and inventory support within an industrial laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Shipping and receiving orders
- Participates in area safety, ergonomics, and housekeeping
- Participates in Continuous Improvement Area 5S
- Interacts with customers and accepts daily deliveries
- Maintains electronic and manual shipping and receiving documents
- Delivers samples to the production laboratories several times per day
- Participates in the long-term storage of client samples and determination of final disposition
- Communicates with the local leadership team
- Performs all routine shipping and receiving tasks as needed, including proper packaging, labelling, and storage of supplies and samples
Required Skills
- Ability to implement safe handling procedures for hazardous materials
- Effective time management skills, organized, and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must have a valid driver's license (CA DMV Class C)
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs with the help of coworkers
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Forklift operation: Counterbalance, Reach, and Electric Pallet Truck
