Job description
Are you inspired by simplifying complex problems and workflows for your customers? Amazon Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) works on some of the world’s most complex supply chain challenges, at Amazon scale. Within SCOT’s Optimal Sourcing Systems team, our tools enable retail vendors to manage their Amazon purchasing and inbound shipping interactions through multiple applications servicing our vendor community. We are raising the bar on vendor experience and need a talented, passionate Product Designer to create innovative new solutions, along with optimizations for existing vendor processes and workflows, helping to shape what’s next for our global supply chain ecosystem.

A Product Designer in this organization determines where to simplify or extend solutions for the best outcome. They will drive the use of best practices and learn to influence and force multiply across all of Amazon supply chain and retail organizations. This role leverages AI-powered design tools and a proprietary design agent to scale impact and accelerate the path from concept to production-ready experiences without compromising quality or governance. This role needs to be capable of operating autonomously in partnering with product stakeholders from supply chain-focused teams across global marketplaces to research, define requirements and design solutions for difficult problems across the end-to-end vendor supply chain experience. To be successful in this role you must be a critical, inventive thinker with proven expertise solving difficult design problems, have strong attention to detail, excitement for understanding and using data, and an ability to communicate your recommended solutions effectively.

Key job responsibilities
- Analyze customer problems through data, research, and AI-driven insights to inform and design solutions with measurable impact.
- Work closely with product and business teams to develop use cases and high-level requirements, and build seamless experiences that work backwards from users.
- Independently deliver UX solutions. Work through ambiguity, adapting your approach to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders, with consideration for technical feasibility.
- Quickly and iteratively create journey maps, flows, prototypes, and mockups as needed to effectively conceptualize and communicate the right detail for the audience, leveraging AI-assisted prototyping and code generation tools to accelerate delivery.
- Present and defend design recommendations to partners, stakeholders, and senior leadership for review, feedback, and approval; write effectively to communicate design rationales and benefits to Amazon customers.
- Develop and maintain detailed user-interface and interaction specifications.
- Scale design impact through our proprietary design agent by contributing to its development, refining its compliance-driven templates and patterns, and driving adoption across partner teams.
- Measure the success and effectiveness of the experiences you’re designing.
- Demonstrate leadership in design thinking, including critiquing, providing design feedback, and conducting retros & research that can influence engineering team decisions to enable optimal solutions for our users.

About the team
You will join a strong, cross-functional team of product managers, business intelligence engineers, scientists, UX designers and software development engineers to build vendor experiences that maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of supply chain operations to meet Amazon’s business goals and to make our customers happy.
