Job description

Get started on an exciting career at Element!

Element employees make a difference in the lives of others every day. We are re-defining the fleet management industry to be people first, then business – delivering on our promise of a superior client experience. This takes hard work and innovation, and we need more like-minded people on our team.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Data Engineer, Master Data Management (MDM) to join our team. In this role, you will support and evolve our Enterprise Data Platform, combining hands-on Master Data Management experience with data stewardship and modern data engineering. You will work with MDM solutions, ETL/ELT pipelines, Snowflake-based processing, and data quality management to ensure trusted Customer & Contact data (Golden Records), while driving automation, intelligent monitoring, and continuous improvement across the data platform.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest and integrate data across Snowflake and MDM platforms.

  • Support and enhance MDM solutions, including Customer and Contact master data, match/merge processes, Golden Records, and data stewardship workflows.

  • Develop SQL-based transformations for standardization, cleansing, and enrichment.

  • Implement data models (staging, curated, golden layers) aligned with MDM architecture.

  • Optimize Snowflake performance, storage, and cost efficiency.

  • Implement data validation, reconciliation, and monitoring frameworks across pipelines.

  • Define and implement data quality rules, checks, and KPIs.

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive fixes.

  • Support QA/UAT testing for enhancements, fixes, and data remediation.

  • Identify and implement automation opportunities across MDM and data pipelines.

  • Drive adoption of AI-driven automation and intelligent workflows to reduce manual effort.

  • Internally, this role is titled "MDM Data Engineer & Steward."

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Must have 3+ years of demonstrated experience working with Master Data Management (MDM), including hands-on experience supporting or implementing MDM solutions in a production environment.

  • Must have hands-on experience with an enterprise MDM platform such as Reltio, Semarchy xDM, Informatica, Ataccama, or a comparable MDM solution.

  • Strong understanding of core MDM concepts and processes, including Customer and Contact master data, Match/Merge, Golden Records, and data stewardship.

  • Strong understanding of data quality and governance principles.

  • Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases.

  • Experience working with ETL/ELT pipelines and data flows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Snowflake, including SQL optimization, data modeling, and ELT pipelines.

  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Talend, Qlik, Informatica, or AWS Glue.

  • Familiarity with AWS services, including S3, Glue, and Lambda.

  • Exposure to DevOps tools such as JIRA, Git, and Jenkins.

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted data operations, anomaly detection, or automation frameworks is a plus.
