Job description

Our construction client is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead their finance operations and manage a team of three. This is a great opportunity for a professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys leading a team, and wants to play a pivotal role in financial strategy and operational excellence.

This role offers the chance to expand your expertise, gain hands-on experience with significant ERP transitions, and work directly with the leader of the finance department. You will be instrumental in overseeing accounts payable, approving payments, and managing all month-end, year-end, and quarter-end processes, including financial reporting.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid in Kitchener-Waterloo,ON

Responsibilities:
  • Lead all finance operations and manage a team of three.
  • ?Lead complex construction-based finance activities and collaborate closely with construction teams.

  • Oversee accounts payable department and approve payments.

  • Manage month-end, year-end, and quarter-end processes, as well as all financial reporting.

  • Play a key role in an upcoming ERP transition.

Qualifications:
  • CPA Required
  • ?7+ years of experience in an accounting or finance department, with 2+ years managing a team.

  • Strong construction experience, including understanding holdbacks

  • Experience with ERP transitions and construction ERPs like Sage, Timberline, or Jonas.
