Location: Brampton, ON
Employment Type: Full Time Contract- 6 months
Department: Transportation / Logistics
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Transportation Analyst to join our clients team and take ownership of the end-to-end transportation accessorial process.
In this role, you will work closely with carriers, vendors, and internal operations teams to validate transportation charges, resolve discrepancies, identify cost-saving opportunities, and help reduce avoidable transportation spend. The ideal candidate understands transportation operations, is comfortable challenging unsupported charges, and can build strong relationships while effectively managing disputes and resolutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data but also wants to have a direct impact on transportation costs and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee transportation accessorial charges, including detention, layover, lumper, redelivery, TONU, driver assist, storage, and other ancillary charges.
  • Review and validate accessorial charges against contracts, rate agreements, shipment events, appointments, proof of delivery (POD), and supporting documentation.
  • Investigate discrepancies and challenge unsupported or inaccurate charges.
  • Work directly with carriers and vendors to resolve billing disputes and reach appropriate resolutions.
  • Partner with transportation and operations teams to investigate the root causes of accessorial charges.
  • Track and analyze accessorial trends, recurring charges, and transportation spend.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce avoidable accessorial costs and improve operational processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to disputes, approvals, and resolutions.
  • Develop and maintain reporting and analysis to monitor accessorial spend and performance.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and management.
  • Help establish processes and best practices to prevent recurring or unnecessary charges.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, freight, carrier management, transportation finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of transportation operations and carrier/vendor relationships.
  • Experience working with transportation accessorials such as detention, layover, lumper, TONU, redelivery, storage, and driver assist is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and identify root causes.
  • Experience reviewing contracts, rate agreements, shipment documentation, and invoices.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with carriers, vendors, and internal operations teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets; experience with transportation management systems (TMS) is an asset.

Why Join Us?
  • Opportunity to have a direct impact on transportation costs and operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with transportation, operations, carriers, and vendors.
  • Opportunity to develop expertise across transportation analytics and cost management.
  • Collaborative and fast-paced working environment.
  • Lots of company learning objectives
  • The opportunity to work within one of Canada’s leaders in supply chain
  • Weekly pay
  • Pay rate of 25/hr
