Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) is the foundation for product pricing and measuring risk-adjusted profitability across RBC's wholesale portfolio. RBC Corporate Treasury's Wholesale FTP team establishes the policies, methodologies, and rates that enable consistent, transparent pricing for our Wholesale businesses. In this role, reporting to the Director of Wholesale FTP, you'll be a key technical and strategic partner driving Capital Markets' multi-year FTP transformation program. You'll collaborate across Corporate Treasury, Capital Markets, and Finance to deliver necessary changes while ensuring governance compliance and positioning RBC for sustainable competitive advantage in wholesale markets.

What will you do?

  • Provide subject matter expertise on Funds Transfer Pricing, Liquidity and Interest Rate Risk, and related governance processes
  • Act as the first point of contact for Corporate Treasury, liaising between the Program and various teams in CT, CMT, and Finance to ensure the successful delivery of program objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise and regional FTP change management and governance protocols by defining requirements and dependencies for the initiatives.
  • Assess the current vs. target state FTP methodology for products and businesses within the scope of the initiatives.
  • Propose and implement changes to FTP methodology and processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Support the integration of changes into existing models, processes, and documentation to ensure seamless adoption and compliance.
  • Participate in project working groups, user acceptance testing, PIV, etc.
  • Provide advice and counsel on FTP execution process design
  • Conduct review of FTP methodology for Capital Markets businesses, perform analysis and recommend changes, as needed
  • Document and socialize change proposals
  • Support WS FTP team deliverables as needed

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in funds transfer pricing, risk, or related treasury/ finance roles
  • Working knowledge of capital markets products and businesses (specifically trading room businesses such as prime brokerage, securities financing, equity derivatives, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of liquidity risk and/or Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP)
  • Expertise in delivering change initiatives, including process improvements and system implementations
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively, drive change, and meet deadlines while adhering to governance requirements
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and inquisitiveness
  • Ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to assess current processes and infrastructure, identify gaps, and propose forward-looking solutions

Nice to have

  • CFA, CPA, MBA, MFin or equivalent professional certification
  • Proficiency in working with data and systems to support liquidity and FTP processes
  • Experience leading transformation programs within financial institutions

What’s in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits
  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities
