Don’t just work anywhere — come build tomorrow together with us.

Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Investment Finance & Operations, the Vice President, Valuations will lead the private equity and private credit valuation team, while also partnering with the peer Vice President, Valuations (who is principally accountable for infrastructure asset valuations) to develop and optimize effective, efficient, coherent and consistent processes and outputs. The VP will also serve as an active member on several internal committees, including the Leadership of Investment Finance & Operations (“LIFO”) team, and the Valuations Working Group.

This includes for the preparation and/or review of valuations for financial reporting and for tax planning, and presenting the results of valuations to Management and the OMERS Audit & Risk Committee
  • Provide independent challenge and judgement regarding valuation assumptions, methodologies and outcomes, ensuring valuations are robust, supportable and consistent across asset classes
  • Partner with deal teams on transactions, as needed, including addressing their queries on existing assets
  • Oversee the maintenance of financial models and forecasts for portfolio assets to assist in budgeting, scenario analyses, and capital allocation and risk assessments.

Key senior relationships include the heads of asset management in private equity, as well as leaders in Risk, Total Portfolio Management and Corporate Finance — not to mention peers within the Investment Finance & Operations team
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the EVP and CFO, senior leadership and governance bodies on valuation matters, financial performance implications and emerging valuation trends
  • Monitor developments in valuation standards, accounting requirements and industry practices, ensuring OMERS methodologies and governance framework remain aligned with leading market practices

Required Capabilities & Experience:

Preferred Capabilities & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, fair value measurement standards, and regulatory requirements relevant to pension funds and investment organizations
  • Experience working in a large, complex, and dynamic investment environment is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and influence effectively across all levels of a complex organization
  • Proven servant leader with a strong track record of developing high‑performing teams and fostering collaboration
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to challenge constructively, drive thoughtful debate and build alignment among diverse stakeholders.
  • Growth mindset with a continuous improvement orientation and commitment to excellence.

We believe that time together in the office is important for OMERS and Oxford, the strength of our employees, and the work we do for our Plan members. In delivering on our pension promise, keeping us connected to our work and each other, our flexible hybrid work guideline requires teams to come into the office 4 days per week. This role is in our Toronto office.

This posting is for an existing vacancy.

As one of Canada’s largest defined benefit pension plans, our people‑first culture is at its best when our workforce reflects the communities where we live and work — and the members we proudly serve.

From hire to retire, we are an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive, barrier‑free recruitment and selection process that extends all the way through your employee experience. This sense of belonging and connection is cultivated up, down and across our global organization thanks to our vast network of Employee Resource Groups with executive leader sponsorship, our Purpose@Work committee and employee recognition programs.

Artificial intelligence (AI) tools are used to support certain stages of the OMERS recruitment process. While AI assists us in our process, human judgment and decision‑making remain central to our candidate experience.
