What you’ll do

• Design and develop scalable AI models and algorithms that enhance the functionality of Lyft's services, focusing on improving user interactions and operational processes.
• Collaborate with data scientists and product managers to define project requirements and translate them into technical specifications for AI-driven features.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of AI models to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance in real-world applications.
• Optimize existing AI systems for better performance and efficiency, addressing any issues that arise during deployment.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning technologies, integrating new techniques into existing workflows as appropriate.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on best practices in software development and AI methodologies.
• Document processes, algorithms, and system architectures to ensure clarity and maintainability of AI solutions.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate AI functionalities into broader Lyft platforms and services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on AI and machine learning applications.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, with a solid understanding of software development best practices.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Proven track record of developing and deploying AI models in production environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and their AI services.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
