Position Overview

Speer Technologies is seeking a Technical Product Manager to lead product delivery across a fast-moving portfolio of partner-driven features. You'll work directly with external partners, product designers, and developer teams to translate requirements into clear, actionable scopes and keep the delivery pipeline moving at startup speed.

This role is ideal for someone with a software development background who can move fluidly between technical detail and partner-facing communication, setting direction for the product team while keeping quality high across every stage of the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements & Scoping: Collaborate with external partners to clarify requirements and generate tiered scopes for upcoming projects.
  • Technical Advisory: Advise external partners and product designers on preferred flows for new features, informed by a strong understanding of the product's current software capabilities.
  • Project Structuring: Break down long and complex projects into tiered approaches with clear deliverables and accurate timelines.
  • Developer Coordination: Coordinate with developer teams to ensure requirements are clear and blockers are resolved to streamline development cycles.
  • Agile Delivery: Set up agile sprints with achievable goals that meet Speer's quick turnaround times for feature deployment, and lead agile/scrum meetings to keep resources aligned with project timelines.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct UI/UX and functionality QA passes at every stage of the software development lifecycle, from ideation and wireframing through to final product.
  • Partner Communication: Hold weekly meetings with partners to scope new requirements and share completed and in-progress features, including clear, creative feature demos.
  • Ticket Writing: Break down new feature requirements into clear tickets with specific requirements and all details necessary for developer handoff.
  • Team Direction: Provide a sense of direction for the entire product delivery team and other product stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Background in software development strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expertise in matching technical requirements with the right software solutions and technology stack.
  • Comfortable with the fundamentals of databases, APIs, and mobile and web applications.
  • Hands‑on experience with agile processes and principles, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Agile Project Management Tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Kanban board management.
  • Meticulous attention to detail across UI elements, spelling and grammar, and general app performance.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Strong team leadership and motivational skills.
  • A creative approach that extends beyond the tech sphere.
  • Comfort working flexible hours in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Fluency in French is an asset (but not required).

Compensation

  • Full-time role.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday.
  • Pay Range: $65,000 to $85,000 per year.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including dental care, vision care, paid time off, and a wellness program.

Why Speer Technologies?

  • Growth Opportunities: Grow with the company and take on new responsibilities as we expand.
  • Dynamic Environment: Our fast-paced startup environment ensures no two days are the same.
  • Innovation: Be part of a team pushing the boundaries of technology and making a real impact.
  • Inclusive Workplace: We are committed to creating an environment where all employees can thrive.
