Regional Operations Specialist Canada - REMOTE POSITION

JOB SUMMARY

Under the guidance of the Regional Director-Canada the Regional Operations Specialist - Canada is responsible for supporting the planning sourcing and execution of GBTAs on-site and virtual events in the Canadian market. The role also helps drive buyer/supplier community engagement through membership operations and supporting the regional team with administrative duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

RegionalEventOperations

• Manageprojectsand operations for multiple concurrent in-person and virtual events in the Canadianmarket reporting progress tokey stakeholders.
• Collaborate withGlobal Operations Business Development and Marketing teams to coordinate event timelines action items and deadlines ensuring successful delivery of regionaland localevents throughappropriate projectmanagement tools(Airtable).
• For our annual Canada Conference manage the call for proposals process including collection of education materials for breakout sessions speaker management and development and delivery of the event agenda.
• Collate staff and vendor post event feedback to support the improvement ofevents.
• Partner with the registration team toguideevent registration and reporting viaCvent.
• Serve as a key point of contact foron-site support atregionalCanadaevents;ensuring a high-quality service-oriented experience aligned with the Associations mission.
• Support vendor and supplier relationship management by coordinating eventlogisticswith hotels A/V providers and other third-party vendors.

Engagement and Membership

• Coordinatemembership recruitment and retention by developing creative strategies to grow the Canadianmember base expanding the prospective member database and increasing Associationand Foundationawareness in theCanadiancorporate travel market.
• Administermembership operations including responding to email queries processing invoicing tracking renewals (including Volunteer Memberships) and generatingappropriatereporting.
• Analyze membership data toidentifytrends growth opportunities and retention risks;coordinatewith Marketing to support member acquisition campaigns and drive ongoing community engagement.

• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors degree or equivalent related work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of project management/coordination experience in event or membership management.
• Strong digital systems acumen including cloud-based systems. Proficient in MS Office Suite Zoom/Teams CRM and project/event management systems.
• Excellent interpersonal (oral and written) communication time management administrative multitasking customer-service focused and organizational skills.
• Focus on details/results with proven track record.
• Native English fluency.
• Active Passport and ability to travel outside of Canada (typically to the US).
  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Cvent experience.
• Experience supporting trade show events.
• French language skills.
• Ideally located in Toronto ON area or within Canada in Eastern Time zone
• Expected to travel to events and internal meetings primarily in Canada and US.
  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Remote work environment.
• Prolonged periods sitting/remaining stationary at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to remain stationary and move for long periods of time during events.
• Must be able to work a variety of hours in order to accommodate various meetings and events.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

• Up to 10%; Travel to regional events US-located internal meetings or other GBTA events/meetings as needed.
  

Remote Canada-based required. Active Passport required.
