Business Finance FP&A Manager (Wattpad)

• The Finance team is seeking a Business Finance (FP&A) Manager to act as the P&L owner for Wattpad’s overall business - driving improvements in business efficiency and profitability across the organization
• Rather than pursuing simple cost reduction, this role champions ROI-driven decision making, evaluating all spend and investments based on the value they return to the business
• The Manager will lead P&L management and financial modeling aligned with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and company strategy
• A core mandate of this role is budget ownership and cost/efficiency management of company-wide spend - including hosting fees, all software and tools, cloud services, and security-related tools - as well as Marketing, Content, and Paid Content subscription spend, where the role is expected to strengthen cost efficiency and ROI
• The role is also expected to actively leverage Google Workspace (GWS) and Claude AI to enhance the speed, depth, and productivity of financial planning and analysis
• Own the Wattpad P&L end-to-end - identify business inefficiencies and drive profitability-improvement initiatives with an ROI-first mindset, not simple cost cutting
• Lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and strategic planning processes in partnership with the broader team, building and maintaining P&L forecasts and financial models that translate strategy into measurable financial outcomes
• Own budget management, cost control, and efficiency for all technology spend, including hosting fees, software and tools, cloud services, and security-related tools - monitor, analyze, and optimize company-wide usage and spend, partnering with Engineering, IT, Security, and vendors to align capacity and cost with business needs
• Drive cost efficiency and ROI improvement for Marketing, Content, and Paid Content subscription spend - analyze marketing campaign performance, content investment returns, and subscription monetization, partnering with Marketing and Content teams to maximize the return on every dollar spent
• Evaluate investments, initiatives, and vendor contracts on an ROI basis - build business cases and conduct post-investment reviews to guide resource allocation
• Act as a trusted finance business partner to leaders across Wattpad, delivering actionable insights on revenue, cost drivers, and margin improvement
• Actively leverage Google Workspace (GWS) and Claude AI to automate reporting, accelerate analysis, and enhance financial modeling and planning productivity
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and decision support to Corporate Finance and leadership as needed

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related fieldAbility to work under tight deadlines with a high level of accuracyStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google Workspace (GWS); demonstrated interest in applying AI tools such as Claude AI to finance workflowsExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across functions and levelsMinimum of 5 years’ FP&A, business finance, or corporate finance experience, including hands‑on P&L management, budgeting/forecasting, and financial modelingSolid understanding of P&L structure, ROI analysis, and budget/cost management across hosting fees, software, tools, cloud, and security-related tool spendPrior exposure to AOP/strategic planning cycles and business partnering with non-finance teams (Engineering, IT, Product, Marketing, Content)Experience optimizing SaaS/software, server, and cloud/hosting costs, including usage analysis and vendor negotiationsExperience analyzing marketing ROI, content investment returns, or subscription-based (paid content) business modelsKorean/English bilingual proficiencyStrong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindsetMBA, MS in Finance, or CPA designationAbility to adapt quickly and add value in a fast-paced team environment
