We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled automotive mechanic with deep expertise in diagnosing repairing and maintaining European vehicles with a strong emphasis on Volkswagen (VW) and Audi platforms.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical capability disciplined diagnostic habits and familiarity with modern VAG systems modules and service procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Perform advanced diagnostics mechanical repairs and electrical troubleshooting on VW and Audi vehicles.
Conduct maintenance services including brakes suspension timing systems cooling systems and drivetrain repairs. Engine rebuilds.
Diagnose issues using VAG-specific tools (e.g. ODIS VCDS Autologic) and interpret fault codes accurately.
Perform module coding adaptations and software updates where required.
Inspect vehicles thoroughly and document findings with clarity and accuracy.
Communicate technical issues and repair recommendations to service advisors.
Ensure all work meets manufacturer standards and shop quality expectations.
Maintain a clean organised and safe work environment.
Stay current with evolving VW/Audi technologies TSBs and platform updates.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
3 years hands-on experience as an automotive technician preferably in a European-focused shop or dealership.
Strong proficiency with VW/Audi mechanical systems including TFSI engines DSG transmissions MQB platform components and common failure patterns.
Ability to diagnose complex electrical issues CAN-bus faults and module communication problems.
Experience using VCDS ODIS or equivalent diagnostic platforms.
Solid understanding of European vehicle service procedures torque specifications and repair standards.
Ability to perform engine mechanical work (timing chains turbo systems carbon cleaning etc.).
Strong problem-solving skills and disciplined diagnostic methodology.
Valid 310S certification (Ontario) or equivalent.
Clean drivers licence. Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a VW/Audi dealership or specialist independent shop.
Familiarity with BMW Mercedes Volvo or other European brands (asset).
Experience with performance modifications tuning or aftermarket upgrades (optional).
Ability to mentor apprentices or junior technicians
