Job description

Registered Architect
Relocation Opportunity from Toronto to British Columbia's Interior Region
Architecture & Design Firm
Leadership Opportunity. Career Growth. Project Variety.
Salary: $85,000 to $110,000+ Depending on Experience

About the Firm

Our client is a well established architectural practice with multiple offices across British Columbia. Known for its collaborative culture and long standing client relationships, the firm delivers a diverse range of projects throughout the province, serving both public and private sector clients.

One of their growing Interior BC offices continues to experience a strong and consistent workload, supported by a healthy pipeline of projects and an established presence within the region. As the office expands, they are looking to add an experienced Registered Architect who is excited to take on greater project leadership while contributing to the continued growth of the team.

Why Consider Relocating from Toronto?

If you're currently living and working in the Greater Toronto Area, this is an opportunity to build your career in one of British Columbia's fastest growing regions while enjoying an exceptional quality of life.

Many architects eventually reach a point where they're looking for more than another project. They want greater ownership, closer relationships with clients, increased responsibility, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the communities they help shape.

This opportunity offers exactly that.

You'll work on a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, civic, educational, community, and mixed use projects while leading projects from early planning through construction. You'll collaborate directly with clients, consultants, contractors, and senior leadership, giving you the opportunity to influence projects from concept to completion.

Outside the office, you'll enjoy a lifestyle that many professionals spend years working toward. Shorter commutes, more affordable housing, easy access to lakes and mountains, world class skiing, hiking, mountain biking, golf, wineries, and countless outdoor activities are all part of everyday life in BC's Interior.

This is more than a relocation. It is an opportunity to continue advancing your career while enjoying a lifestyle that offers greater balance without sacrificing professional growth.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Registered Architect to lead projects through all phases of design and construction.

Working closely with senior leadership, consultants, and clients, you'll manage multiple projects while overseeing design development, technical documentation, consultant coordination, and construction administration. This role offers an excellent balance of technical leadership, project management, and client facing responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects through all phases of design and construction

• Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables

• Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams throughout project delivery

• Prepare and review design packages, permit drawings, and construction documentation

• Provide technical leadership and quality control across multiple projects

• Lead client meetings and maintain strong client relationships

• Support Contract Administration, including RFIs, submittals, site reviews, and change documentation

• Mentor junior architectural and technical staff

• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and firm standards

Qualifications

• Registered Architect with the OAA, AIBC, or another Canadian provincial association, with the ability and willingness to transfer registration to the AIBC

• Minimum 5 years of experience delivering architectural projects through all phases

• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit

• Experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams

• Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and construction practices

• Excellent communication, organization, and client relationship skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative team environment

• Open to relocating to British Columbia's Interior Region

What's On Offer

• Competitive salary based on experience

• Comprehensive benefits package

• Relocation opportunity to one of British Columbia's fastest growing architectural markets

• Diverse project portfolio across commercial, institutional, civic, educational, community, and mixed use sectors

• Opportunity to lead projects from concept through construction

• Supportive and collaborative team environment

• Long term career growth within an established and expanding architectural practice

• Exceptional work life balance with year round access to outdoor recreation and welcoming Interior BC communities

If you're a Registered Architect in the Greater Toronto Area looking for greater project ownership, meaningful career growth, and an exceptional lifestyle, I'd love to connect.
