Job description

Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Operating and Nursing Officer, the Director, Clinical is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational management of the Medical Clinics (Family Medicine, Specialist Clinics, and Eye Care Services), Diagnostic Imaging, Pharmacy Services.

As a key member of the leadership team, the Director works in partnership with physicians, clinical leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient-centred care, enhance access to services, optimize operational performance, and support the organization's strategic growth objectives. The Director is accountable for ensuring efficient, integrated, and sustainable service delivery while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for ambulatory clinical services, including clinics, diagnostic imaging and pharmacy.
  • Lead and develop high-performing interdisciplinary teams to achieve organizational and departmental objectives.
  • Collaborate with physician leaders and stakeholders to advance service excellence, patient access, and program growth.
  • Ensure effective operational planning, resource management, and performance monitoring across assigned departments.
  • Lead initiatives that improve efficiency, patient flow, and the overall patient and provider experience.
  • Support the development and implementation of new programs, services, and operational strategies aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, professional practice, and legislative requirements.
  • Manage departmental budgets and resources while promoting fiscal responsibility and operational sustainability.
  • Foster strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to support integrated models of care and system collaboration.
  • Perform additional duties and undertake special projects as assigned.

Corporate Responsibilities

  • Participate in all mandatory training requirements and work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, Schroeder Ambulatory Centre Policies and Procedures, as well as established industry guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in health administration, Nursing, Business Administration, or a related healthcare discipline required or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, ideally within ambulatory care, outpatient services, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy, or related clinical programs.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex clinical operations and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, strategic planning, financial management, and change management skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with physicians and healthcare professionals in a dynamic healthcare environment.
