Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Senior Manager, Digital Product within Wealth Management Canada's Strategy, Products, & Digital Investing team owns the digital product vision, long-term roadmap, and delivery execution for Royal Trust.

Reporting to the Head of Digital Wealth Solutions, you will lead digital strategy across product teams, internal technology and AI partners, vendors, and business stakeholders—ensuring Royal Trust’s digital capabilities are strategically aligned, scalable, and positioned for longevity within Wealth Management Canada.

You directly manage and develop a high-performing team of product owners, with accountability for both strategic direction and on-time, on-budget implementation. You bring strong technical expertise, demonstrated people leadership skills, and product management fluency.

What will you do?

Digital Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own the digital product vision and long-term roadmap for Royal Trust, emphasizing scalability and fit within Wealth Management Canada priorities

  • Identify and prioritize digital opportunities that enhance client, trust officer, and employee experiences

  • Lead build vs. buy analysis; translate technical complexity into clear recommendations

  • Explore AI-powered customer solutions and operational efficiencies in partnership with internal AI teams

  • Maintain and evolve the roadmap based on market feedback, business priorities, and technology advances

Team Leadership & Delivery Ownership

  • Directly manage and develop a team of product owners/managers, responsible for hiring, performance management, and career development

  • Mentor direct reports on technology, digital best practices, AI capabilities, emerging technical trends, and strategic thinking

  • Drive execution of the digital roadmap across product teams and technical partners, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and quality standards

  • Establish and own success metrics, delivery timelines, release cycles, and continuous improvement in product management practices

  • Foster a culture that combines technical excellence with business acumen and customer-centric thinking

Stakeholder Partnership & Governance

  • Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders across product, technology, data, AI, vendor and business partners

  • Partner with internal Technology and AI teams to evaluate feasibility, integration, and implementation approaches

  • Facilitate alignment across competing priorities and influence outcomes without direct authority

  • Serve as trusted advisor to Royal Trust business leaders on digital capabilities, strategic implications, and delivery roadmaps

  • Support portfolio governance and investment planning

What do you need to succeed?

  • 7+ years in product management, digital strategy, technology delivery, or systems architecture

  • Demonstrated people leadership with track record of directly managing teams

  • Deep technical background (software development, systems architecture, enterprise technology, or similar)

  • Strong product lifecycle, roadmap development, and stakeholder management expertise

  • Experience leading digital products and evaluating build vs. buy decisions

  • Proven ability to drive delivery execution and manage complex implementation timelines

  • Ability to influence across product, technology, and business teams

  • Excellent communication skills, particularly translating technical and strategic complexity for leadership

  • Strong professional judgment and ability to build trust in sensitive environments

  • Ability to learn new business domains quickly while maintaining technical fluency

  • Financial services, wealth management, or trust services experience is a plus

What’s in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver world class digital experiences to our clients. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation package.

  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities.

  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact.

  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team.

  • Opportunities to do challenging work.

  • Opportunities to take on progressively greater accountabilities

Successful Profile

The ideal candidate is a technically strong leader who owns both strategy and delivery, driving digital transformation for Royal Trust. You excel at translating between technology and business, building high-performing teams, and partnering across functions.
