Interim Senior Financial Analyst, FP& A

Location: Oakville, ON

Work Model: Primarily onsite (4–5 days/week)

Term: 24 - month contract

Compensation: $90-$100K (per annum)

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, FP& A for a 2-year contract opportunity. This role will support enterprise planning, forecasting, management reporting, and financial analysis across a diverse group of business units.

This is an individual contributor role suited to a finance professional with strong modeling capability, experience working in a multi-entity environment, and the ability to turn large volumes of financial and operational data into clear, actionable insight.

Key Responsibilities

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and longer-range planning activities across multiple business units
• Build, update, and maintain financial models covering income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and capital spending assumptions
• Analyze monthly and quarterly performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods, highlighting key drivers, trends, risks, and areas of opportunity
• Prepare recurring management reporting, dashboards, KPI packages, and presentation materials for leadership stakeholders
• Deliver ad hoc analysis related to operations, pricing, margins, productivity, and business case development
• Partner with finance, accounting, and operational leaders to validate assumptions, interpret performance, and support business decisions
• Maintain and improve reporting tools, planning templates, and model structures to support consistency and efficiency
• Assist with process improvements, automation initiatives, and standardization efforts across FP& A activities
• Work with large and varied data sets, including extraction, validation, reconciliation, and documentation of reporting logic

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in FP& A, corporate finance, business analysis, accounting, or a similar finance-focused role
• Strong financial modeling and advanced Excel capabilities
• Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting
• Experience in multi-entity or complex operating environments
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
• CPA, CFA, MBA, or progress toward a relevant designation is an asset. Open to University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field
• Prior experience in utilities, regulated industries, constructions, energy, infrastructure, or other asset-intensive environments is an asset
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools
• Exposure to planning and performance management platforms such as Prophix, Anaplan, Workday Adaptive Planning, Vena, Planful, or OneStream
• Familiarity with ERP environments such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite
